Collection: Bamboo Weaning Sets, Plates & Bowls

Bamboo is the grown-up end of baby feeding. It has weight, it looks like proper crockery rather than baby kit, and it shrugs off bolognese, curry and beetroot without staining — which pale silicone does not.

Our bamboo baby plates and bowls have a strong silicone suction base that grips smooth highchair trays and tables, so lunch stays on the tray rather than the floor. Divided plates keep foods separate for baby-led weaning; deep bowls suit porridge, purees and anything with a sauce. Or take the 5-piece bamboo dinner set — plate, bowl, cup and cutlery in giraffe, zebra or elephant — for a complete setup in one go.

Why bamboo

Made from 100% natural bamboo: one of the fastest-growing renewable plants on earth, needing no pesticides and no replanting. It's BPA-free, phthalate-free and free from melamine — worth checking, because a lot of "bamboo" tableware is bamboo fibre bound with melamine resin, which is a plastic. Bamboo also doesn't hold heat or cold the way metal does, so it stays comfortable for small hands.

One thing to know before you buy

Bamboo is hand wash only. Dishwashers combine long water exposure with high heat, which dries the fibres and splits them. Wash in warm soapy water, dry straight away, and a bamboo plate will outlast several plastic ones. If you'd rather have something dishwasher safe, our silicone feeding range does the same job with less ceremony.
