Collection: Stacking Toys

Sustainable stacking toys for babies and toddlers

Stacking is the first proper puzzle a baby solves. Pick it up, work out which way round it goes, place it, watch it stay — or watch it topple, which is arguably better. It builds grip, hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness and early problem-solving, all disguised as messing about.

Ours come in two materials, and they suit different ages.

  • Silicone stackers from around six months. Soft, light and chewable, so they survive the flinging stage and double as teethers. The silicone rainbow stacker works from birth as a sensory toy and becomes a stacking toy at a year.
  • Wooden stackers and nesting sets from around twelve months, once they can place with control. Our Safari Animal Nesting Dolls are FSC-certified, and work as stacking, nesting and sorting all at once — which is why they last for years rather than weeks.

No batteries, no lights, no sounds. Open-ended toys like these do hundreds of things; a toy with one button does one thing and then stops. They're also the sort of toy that survives being handed down, which is the whole environmental argument in one sentence.

Everything is made from FSC or sustainably sourced wood, or 100% food-grade silicone — BPA-free, PVC-free and phthalate-free, UKCA or CE marked to BS EN 71. Check the age guidance on each toy: wooden pieces are usually graded from six or twelve months because of weight and small parts.
