Bunny Wobbly Stacker β€” five rings, a felt-eared bunny, and a peg that bends

Five solid wooden rings stack up a central peg, then a bunny face with soft felt ears goes on top to finish it. The peg is joined to the base with elastic, so when a toddler leans on it, bumps it or falls on it, it bends over and springs back up. 10 x 10 x 23cm, in soft pastels. 🐰 Why the bendy peg matters

Most ring stackers have a rigid wooden post, and a rigid post is exactly the sort of thing a toddler who is just finding their feet lands on. This one gives way. That is the safety reason, and it is a good one.

The play reason is that it is funny. Push the peg and it wobbles over and pops back, which a one-year-old will find hilarious for far longer than you would expect. It also adds a little challenge: a wobbling peg rewards a steady hand, so threading rings onto it is quiet practice in slowing down.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Does the elastic peg make it harder to stack?
A little, and in a good way. The peg moves, so a slow, steady hand gets the rings on far better than a quick one. Most one-year-olds work that out after a few goes.

Bunny or cloud?
Both are pastel jumini stackers that wobble, in different ways. The bunny's base stays put and its peg bends on elastic, which is the safer choice for a child who tumbles. The cloud has a solid post on a rocking base and is smaller, at 14cm.

Will the elastic wear out?
It is built to be pushed over, so normal play is what it is designed for. As with any toy, check it regularly and stop using it if the elastic or any part becomes damaged.

Can it be washed?
Wipe the wooden parts with a damp cloth. Do not soak it, and keep the felt ears dry.

Do the rings have to go on in order?
No. Any order works on the peg, which suits a first stacker. The bunny face goes on last.
