Feeding Baby Bottle 150ml β€” a soft silicone bottle with an off-centre teat

A 150ml baby bottle with a soft, food-grade silicone body and a teat set off-centre rather than in the middle. The teat is fixed into a firm screw-on collar, and there is a small vent, labelled "safety valve", built in. Clear ml markings, and it can be sterilised by steam, boiling or microwave. In pink or blue. For babies from birth to around 7 months.

🍼 A bottle that is easy to hold

Most bottles are hard plastic or glass all over. This one has a soft silicone body, which is lighter to hold during a long night feed, warm rather than cold in the hand, and easy for a baby to rest their hands on as they get older.

↗️ Why the teat is off-centre

The teat sits towards one side of the bottle rather than in the middle, closer in shape to the way a baby feeds at the breast. Some parents who are combining breast and bottle, or giving expressed milk, prefer this shape. We would not claim any bottle is the same as breastfeeding, and every baby has their own preferences β€” but if your baby has been fussy with a standard centred teat, it is a different shape worth trying.

πŸ”© How it goes together

The teat is fixed into a firm screw-on collar, so there is no separate teat to push through a ring β€” fill the bottle, screw the collar on, and it is ready. The collar and a few small fittings are a firmer, plastic-type material; the body is silicone. A small vent labelled "safety valve" is built into the bottle. Because the teat and collar are one piece, give the join between them a careful clean and check after every wash.

♨️ Sterilise it your way

The NHS advises sterilising bottle-feeding equipment until your baby is at least 12 months old. This bottle can be sterilised whichever way suits your kitchen: in a steam steriliser, by boiling, or in the microwave.

⏱️ Responsive bottle feeding

Whatever bottle you use, the NHS recommends responsive feeding: holding your baby close and fairly upright, letting them draw the teat in, pacing the feed with short pauses, and letting them stop when they have had enough rather than finishing the bottle. A small 150ml bottle suits those early weeks, when feeds are little and often.

⚠️ Worth knowing before you buy

  • It is not all silicone. The body is soft silicone; the screw-on collar that holds the teat, and a few small fittings, are a firmer plastic-type material.
  • The teat cannot be replaced on its own. It is fixed into the collar. Check it before every feed, and once it shows wear, the bottle has done its job.
  • Watch how your baby copes with the flow. Every baby feeds differently. If milk seems to come too fast β€” gulping, coughing, milk spilling from the mouth β€” slow the feed with more pauses, and speak to your health visitor if it continues.
  • Bottles are for the first year. The NHS suggests offering a cup from around 6 months and moving away from bottles after the first birthday. Our free-flow sippy cup is the next step.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Is any of it plastic?
Yes. The body and teat are silicone, but the screw-on collar that holds the teat and a few small fittings are a firmer plastic-type material.

Will it help with switching between breast and bottle?
Some parents find an off-centre teat helps, because the shape is a little closer to feeding at the breast. Every baby is different, though, and no bottle is the same as breastfeeding. If you are combining the two and having difficulties, your midwife, health visitor or a breastfeeding supporter can help.

What is the safety valve?
It is a small vent built into the bottle. Vents like this let air in as your baby drinks, so the bottle does not build up suction.

How can I sterilise it?
By steam, boiling or microwave β€” whichever you already use. The NHS advises sterilising bottle-feeding equipment until your baby is at least 12 months old.

What age is it for?
From birth to around 7 months. From around 6 months, it is worth introducing an open or free-flow cup alongside.

Safety information

Always stay with your baby during feeds and never prop a bottle. Check the teat and collar before each use and stop using the bottle if the teat is torn, sticky, worn or loose in the collar.
