🎒 Not a free-flow cup, and that is deliberate

Worth being exact, because it decides which of our cups you want. This spout does not pour when tilted — it opens under pressure from your baby's mouth. There is no valve to suck against, so it is not a bottle teat in disguise, but it is not free-flow either.

What that buys you is a cup you can throw in a bag. What it costs you is the sipping action that NHS guidance recommends for teeth and for learning to drink. So this is the second cup, not the first. 🥣 The snack lid turns one thing into two

The 2-in-1 version adds a second flexible lid that converts the same cup into a snack pot. One item in the bag instead of two, which matters more than it sounds when you are already carrying nappies, wipes and a spare outfit. The cup itself is identical in both versions — the only difference is whether the snack lid is in the box.

Soft, non-slip silicone with a light body sized for babies and toddlers, and measurement markings inside at 50ml, 100ml and 150ml so you can see what has actually gone in. The soft spout is safe to chew, which is just as well, because at this age it will be.

🔬 What we have actually had tested

The solid silicone our cups are made from was tested by an independent accredited laboratory with nothing detected in migration of 19 elements under EN 71-3, phthalates, 553 PFAS, 15 PAHs, or any of the 247 REACH substances of very high concern. Our plates and bowls in the same silicone were separately tested as finished products to EN 14372, the European standard for children's feeding utensils. ❓ Frequently asked questions

Is this a free-flow cup?
No, and we would rather say so plainly. The spout opens when bitten or squeezed rather than flowing when tilted. There is no valve to suck against, but if free-flow is what you are after — and for learning to drink and for teeth, NHS guidance says it should be — our Free-Flow Silicone Sippy Cup is the one.

Will it leak in a bag?
That is what it is for. The spout stays closed unless something bites it, so it goes in a changing bag the right way up or not.

What's the difference between the two versions?
The cup is identical. "With Snack Lid" simply includes an extra lid that converts it into a snack pot.

Can I buy the snack lid separately later?
No — it only comes as part of the 2-in-1, so it is worth choosing that version if you think you will use it.

Can it go in the dishwasher, or be sterilised?
Both, cup and lids. Silicone takes a dishwasher, boiling water and a steam steriliser without warping.

What age is it for?
6 months and up, alongside the start of weaning.

Does it make a good gift?
The snack-lid version does, because it is two things in one box and it is the sort of practical present people actually use.

Four cups, and they are genuinely for different moments:

Safety information

Adult supervision recommended. Inspect the spout, the lids and the body before use and stop using the cup if the silicone is split, torn or has become sticky. Not for use with hot liquids.
