Crochet takes whatever shape it dries in, so thirty seconds of pushing it back into a pod is the difference between a peapod and a small green pancake.

Will it survive being washed?
Yes, with one bit of care. Warm wash on a delicate setting, don't tumble dry it and don't wring it out — then reshape it by hand while it's still damp and leave it to dry naturally. Crochet keeps whatever shape it dries in, so that last step is the one that matters.

What age is it for?
From birth. It's light enough for a newborn to hold with help, and it really comes into its own from around three months when grabbing becomes deliberate.

How loud is the rattle?
Gentle. A soft shake rather than a hard plastic clatter, and it only sounds when the pod is moved.

Is it safe to chew?
It's rated from birth and made from organic cotton, so mouthing is expected — it's a soft toy rather than a teether, though, so it won't give the firm pressure a teething baby sometimes wants. As with any fabric toy, check the stitching now and then and retire it if anything works loose.

Are the peas loose inside?
