Will it survive being washed?
Yes, with one step people skip. Warm wash on a delicate setting, no tumble drying and no wringing — then reshape the cherries by hand while they're still damp and leave them to dry. Crochet keeps the shape it dries in, so that's the bit that matters.

What age is it for?
From birth. The faces and the red hold a newborn's attention; the grabbing and shaking arrive around three or four months and it stays in favour from there.

How loud is the rattle?

Can the cherries come off the stem?
