Not twenty animals — a whole farm, for the fridge door
Most magnet sets give you a row of animals and leave it there. This one gives you the farm: the barn, the house, the fence, the kennel, the tractor, an apple tree and a pear tree, and the farmer's wife to run the place. Which means a child isn't just sticking things on the fridge, they're laying out a scene and then telling you what's happening in it.
🚜 All twenty, in full
Horse, sheep, dog in a kennel, rooster, rabbit, house, farmer's wife, goat, chicken, cat, a second horse, barn, pig, fence, duck, cow, apple tree, tractor, donkey and pear tree.
Two horses is a nicer detail than it sounds — it means a pair rather than a single, and pairs are what young children reach for when they start making up stories.
🧲 The magnets are embedded in the wood
Worth stating plainly, because it's the thing that matters most here. The magnets are set into the wood rather than glued to the back as loose discs. Swallowed magnets are a far more serious matter than an ordinary small part — more than one can cause real internal harm — so a set where the magnet is embedded rather than stuck on is the only kind we'd stock. This set is rated from 2 years and carries no under-threes warning on the box.
🧊 Where it actually lives
On the fridge, at the height a two-year-old can reach, which is the quiet genius of a magnet set: it's a toy that occupies a child in the one room where you're trying to get something done. It also packs flat, weighs nothing, and goes in a bag for a long weekend at someone else's house.
🎁 The gift it's actually best at
This is a grandparent's toy, and we mean that as a compliment. It costs little, it lives on your fridge rather than adding to the pile at home, it works for a two-year-old and equally for a four-year-old, and it gives you something to do together at the exact height a small person is standing. If you keep a box of things for when the grandchildren visit, this earns its place in it.

❓ Frequently asked questions
Twenty small magnets and a small child — how worried should I be?
This deserves a straight answer rather than reassurance. Swallowed magnets are not an ordinary choking risk: two or more can attract through the gut and cause serious injury, which is why loose magnet discs are a genuine hazard. In this set the magnets are embedded in the wood, not glued to the back, so there is no separate disc to come away. It's rated from 2 years and carries no under-threes warning. That said, twenty small wooden pieces and a crawling baby don't belong in the same room — this is a fridge-door toy at standing height, and if there's a baby in the house it wants putting away at the end rather than left on the floor.
Will they stick to my fridge?
Most fridge doors are steel and will hold them. Some aren't — a few stainless finishes and most integrated or clad doors won't take a magnet at all. Worth testing with any magnet you already own before you buy, and if yours is one of the non-magnetic sort, a steel baking tray propped on a shelf does the job surprisingly well.
What's actually in the twenty?
Thirteen animals (horse, sheep, dog in its kennel, rooster, rabbit, goat, chicken, cat, a second horse, pig, duck, cow and donkey), the farmer's wife, and the setting: house, barn, fence, tractor, apple tree and pear tree. It's the buildings and the fence that turn it from a collection into a farm.
Is it just a fridge toy?
Mostly, but not only — they work on any steel surface, and plenty of people use a baking tray as a portable farm for the car or a cafe table. They're wooden pieces first and magnets second, so they get played with off the fridge too.
How do I clean them?
Surface wash only — a damp cloth, and don't soak them. Wood and water are a poor combination, and these are small enough to warp.
