It's worth saying plainly: the lacing thread is a cord, so this is one for supervised play at a table or on the floor with you nearby. It isn't a toy to leave in a cot or a playpen, and it's sensible to put the lace back in the bag rather than leaving it out with the pieces.

Can a two-year-old really thread?
