Farm Peg Puzzle from jumini
The Farm Peg Puzzle — a bright, cheerful first puzzle that brings the charm of the countryside straight into your little one’s playtime. Part of the much‑loved Jumini Farm Collection, this wooden peg puzzle is perfect for curious toddlers aged 1 year+ who adore animals, matching games, and hands‑on discovery.
With 9 chunky peg pieces, each shaped like a friendly farm animal or item, little hands can lift, explore, and match each piece to the simple line drawing underneath. As children play, they naturally build hand‑eye coordination, early shape recognition, and the confidence that comes from mastering a new skill. It’s a lovely way for little learners to discover the world through familiar animals and gentle, screen‑free play.
Made from wood and finished with smooth, child‑safe edges, the puzzle is sturdy, safe, and designed to last through many rounds of farmyard fun. At approximately 29 × 21.5 cm, it’s perfectly sized for small hands to grasp and enjoy. Meeting UKCA and CE safety standards, it offers parents peace of mind while little imaginations run free.
Whether it’s a first birthday gift or a new addition to a growing puzzle collection, the Farm Peg Puzzle is a delightful way to spark curiosity, encourage imagination, and support early development.
A sweet, colourful classic — ready to become a favourite in any toddler’s toy box.
❓ Frequently asked questions
Will a one-year-old actually manage it?
Not in the way you might picture, and that's fine. At one, most children start by pulling every peg out and handing them to you — that is the game for a good while. Getting each animal back into its own hole comes later, often several months later. Both count as playing with it, and watching the second one arrive is rather the point.
What age is it for?
The box says 1 year and up.
Peg puzzle or the Chunky Barn Shape Puzzle?
This one is the easier first attempt, because the pegs give small fingers something to hold onto. The barn puzzle asks them to grip a whole piece, but those pieces then stand up and carry on as toys in their own right.
Will it survive being stood on and thrown?
It's wood with smooth edges rather than card or foam, so it takes the treatment a one-year-old gives a puzzle rather better than most first puzzles do.
How do I clean it?
Wipe with a damp cloth and don't soak it. Painted wood doesn't take kindly to sitting in water — and at this age it will need wiping, because everything goes in the mouth first.
🚜 More from the Jumini farm range
The same farmyard characters run right through the range, so these collect rather than compete. Roughly in the order little ones are ready for them:
- Pop Up Farm Animals — from 1 year. Press one down and it springs back up.
- Farm Peg Puzzle — from 1 year. This one: nine chunky pegs on a board.
- Chunky Barn Shape Puzzle — from 1 year. Seven pieces that also play on their own.
- Chicken Coop Set — from 18 months. A coop with a cockerel, hen, chicks and egg crates.
- Pig Sty Toy Set — from 18 months. A sty, pigs and two muddy puddles.
- Farm Lacing Game — from 2 years. Threading, with a farm scene board.
- Wooden Farm Dominoes — from 2 years. Animals one side, numbers the other.
- Scarecrow Stacking Game — from 3 years. Ten scarecrows numbered 1 to 10.
If you're choosing between the two boards, the peg puzzle is the easier one: the pegs give small fingers something to hold, where the barn puzzle's pieces have to be gripped whole.
