From birth. Newborns get the rattle and the patterns; the book comes into its own once they're grabbing and turning, from around six months.

Does the book really come off?
Yes — it's on a Velcro strap, so it detaches for independent play and goes back on when you want one thing rather than two.

How does it compare to the plain bunnies?
It's markedly bigger — 33cm against 24cm — and it has a rattle inside, which the pink and grey bunnies don't. Those are the better choice if you want something small enough to live in a bag.
