It's lighter than every other 650ml plate we sell while holding exactly as much food. Easier to lift one-handed while the other hand is occupied — which, during weaning, it usually is.

🍽️ One main, one side, one taster

300ml, 200ml and 150ml. The sections step down in size, which maps rather neatly onto how babies actually eat: something substantial, something green, and a small pile of whatever they're currently unsure about. All of it in a compact 19 x 19cm square that won't crowd a standard high chair tray.

🐘 And it is, unmistakably, an elephant

The ears and the trunk do a real job. A baby who's pleased to see their plate arrive tends to stay in the high chair a little longer, and a little longer is often all you need.

⚠️ Worth knowing before you buy

• 228g is light for a full-size plate, which means it sits slightly less firmly than our 286g hamburger plate once the suction is broken. On a proper high chair tray you won't notice; on an open dining table you might.
• The suction base grips best on smooth, non-porous surfaces — glass, sealed high chair trays, laminate and plastic. On bare or textured wood it will still hold, just not as firmly, so it's worth knowing what your high chair is made of.
• 19 x 19cm is compact, which is a virtue on a small tray and a limit if you like to lay finger foods out. Our squirrel plate is 25cm wide for exactly that.

How does it compare to the squirrel plate?
Same three section sizes, different shape and footprint. The elephant is a compact 19cm square at 228g; the squirrel plate is 25cm wide at 265g. Pick by your tray, and by whether you want food contained or spread out.

Is it a good first plate?
Yes. The 150ml section is a sensible size for introducing something new alongside a familiar main, and the soft silicone is gentle on gums during teething.
