Brand: For the Baby
25cm across β for food that wants spreading out rather than piling up
π The widest plate we sell
At 25cm it's a good six centimetres wider than most of our range, and the width is the whole point. Baby-led weaning works best when finger foods are laid out in a single layer where small hands can see them and pick them up β rather than heaped into a mound that has to be excavated first.
π½οΈ One main, one side, one taster
300ml, 200ml and 150ml. The sections step down in size, which maps rather neatly onto how babies actually eat: something substantial, something green, and a small pile of whatever they're currently suspicious of.
πΏοΈ And it's the one that gets given
Of all the plates in our range, the squirrel is the one that stops people mid-scroll. There's a level of detail in the shape that feels a cut above the average weaning plate, which is why it's our most-gifted β a baby shower present that gets used every day rather than admired once.
β¨οΈ Oven, microwave, freezer, dishwasher
Every silicone plate and bowl we sell is marked oven, microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe. That is more useful than it sounds: you can bake a small portion in it, cool it, freeze it, warm it and serve it from the same plate, and silicone takes the whole range without warping or clouding. Let oven-warmed food stand before serving.
β οΈ Worth knowing before you buy
- Measure your tray. 25cm is genuinely wide and will overhang a narrow high chair tray. Our hamburger plate holds the same 650ml in an 18 x 19cm footprint if space is tight.
- The suction base grips best on smooth, non-porous surfaces β glass, sealed high chair trays, laminate and plastic. On bare or textured wood it will still hold, just not as firmly, so it's worth knowing what your high chair is made of.
- The sections are open at the top, as on all our plates. Very runny food will find its way between compartments if the plate is tilted.
π¬ What we have actually had tested
Our silicone plates and bowls were tested as finished products to EN 14372:2004, the European standard written specifically for children's feeding utensils, across 15 samples covering 13 colours β migration of elements, phthalate content, volatile compounds, formaldehyde release and bisphenol A release, with nothing detected.
A bowl from the range was separately tested by Eurofins against LFGB Sections 30 and 31, the German food-contact standard and among the strictest anywhere. It passed overall migration, peroxide value and volatile organic matter testing, bisphenol A was not detected, and a sensory panel confirmed no perceptible odour or taste passing into food. Every plate and bowl we sell is the same food-grade platinum silicone from the same supplier.
We publish the reports on our silicone information page rather than asking you to take our word for it.

Questions we get asked
Will it fit my high chair tray?
Most full-size trays, yes. Compact and travel high chairs, often not β measure 25cm across before ordering, or choose our hamburger plate instead.
Can it really go in the oven?
Yes β oven, microwave, freezer and dishwasher, and the same is true of every plate and bowl in our silicone range.
How does it compare to the elephant plate?
Same three section sizes, different shape and footprint. The squirrel is 25cm wide; the elephant plate is a compact 19cm square. Pick by your tray, and by whether you want food spread out or contained.
Has the plate itself been LFGB tested, or just a bowl?
A bowl from the range was the item Eurofins tested to LFGB. We say that plainly rather than implying every piece went through it separately. Every plate and bowl we sell is the same food-grade platinum silicone from the same supplier, and the plates were tested as finished products to EN 14372 in their own right.
Which plate is for you?
- Same layout, smaller plate? The Elephant Silicone Baby Plate is 300 / 200 / 150ml in a 19cm square.
- Narrow tray? The Hamburger Silicone Baby Plate is our most compact, and our heaviest gripper.
- Two proper sides rather than a taster? The Dinosaur Silicone Baby Plate runs 250 / 200 / 200ml.
- Something light for days out? The Silicone Suction Plate with 3 Compartments is just 153g.
