Jumini Lamb Music Ball – Montessori Activity Toy | From 0m+

Jumini Lamb Music Ball — one soft lamb, four things to discover

A soft knitted lamb activity ball, 27cm, with a wooden pull cord that plays Brahms' Lullaby, a baby-safe mirror and movable beads to slide and click. Part of the jumini Friends Lamb range, UKCA and CE marked. Suitable from birth.

🎵 Pull the cord, hear the lullaby

Give the wooden cord a gentle tug, let go, and Brahms' Lullaby plays softly as it winds back in — the one everybody knows, slow, familiar and calming. Play it at the same point each evening and it soon becomes part of the wind-down routine. The wooden pull is smooth and easy to grip, so it is grasping practice long before they can work it themselves.

🪞 A mirror and beads

Babies are fascinated by faces, and for the first months the most interesting one available is their own — which is why a baby-safe mirror is a Montessori favourite for visual tracking and focus. The movable beads give small fingers something to push, slide and click: proper fine motor work dressed up as play. Pull, and music happens; push, and a bead moves; look, and someone looks back. That is cause and effect in four different flavours.

⚠️ Worth knowing before you buy

• Keep it out of the cot. It is a lovely part of the bedtime routine, but like any soft toy — and anything with a cord — it should stay out of a baby's sleep space until around 12 months, as the Lullaby Trust and the NHS advise. Play the lullaby, then put the lamb aside.
• Hand wash only. The music box inside means hand wash at 30°C, no machine and no tumble dryer.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Can it go in the cot?
No. Use the lullaby as part of the bedtime routine, then keep the lamb out of the cot — soft toys and cords stay out of a baby's sleep space until around 12 months.

Does it need batteries?
No — the music box is wound by the pull cord.

How do I wash it?
Hand wash at 30°C and dry naturally. No machine and no tumble dryer, because of the music box.

Does it make a good gift?
Yes — a beautiful newborn gift that stays interesting for months.
