🥁 Why ten months is the moment

Around ten months, babies start deliberately repeating actions to see what happens. Shake, jingle. Shake again, jingle again. A tambourine is a wonderfully satisfying way to practise that, and before long they are tapping along to music and joining in with nursery rhymes — early listening, timing and coordination, all bundled up as a very good time.
